Ludwig Wurster und die Nürnberger Augustiner zur Reformationszeit

Der Neu-Nürnberger Augustiner Ludwig Wurster, Theologie-Student in Wittenberg, wird aus Glaubensgründen Gerber. Die Mitbrüder übergeben ihr Kloster 1525 an das Almosenamt. Beides macht auf Voraussetzungen der Reformation in Nürnberger aufmerksam: Die Augustiner sind ihr Ideengeber und personeller Träger. Erforscht werden Studienorte, Bildung, Klosterleben, Ansehen bei den Bürgern, Streben nach Reformen, das Ringen um die Legitimität der Existenz als Mönch, Veränderungen im Kloster-Gottesdienst, die mittelalterlichen Stiftungen angesichts des Bettels. Vor und nach der Klosterauflösung betraut der Rat die Mönche mit neuen Aufgaben in Stadt und Land. So zeigen sich bisher nur wenig bekannte Lebenswege, auch dank der Abfindungsurkunden. Ludwig Wursters Reformatoren-Wappen fasst das geistliche Vermächtnis der Zeit zusammen.

Ludwig Wurster, once as monk a member of the Augustinian Convent in Nuremberg, student of Theology in Wittenberg, became a tanner for the reasons of his faith.
