Cross infection between dentist , patient and the technician is the area of utmost concern today. Dentistry through centuries has always aimed at providing relief from pain, treating loss of function and correcting unesthetic appearance. Sometimes an unforeseen complication can arise due to infectious status of the patient. This was not an issue of major concern in olden days but with the increased awareness of diseases like hepatitis B and AIDS, it has been accentuated. here a sincere effort is made to check the effect of various spray disinfectants on most commonly used irreversible hydrocolloid impression material.
