The current study was conducted to verify the changes of the inflammatory and endothelial markers , i.e , Intercellular Adhesion Molecules (ICAM-1), Vascular cell Adhesion Molecules (VCAM-1), Endotheline (ET-1), Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and C-Reactive Protein (CRP) serum levels in Chronic Renal Failure Patients receiving haemodialysis. To acheive this aim , Sixty five patients of CKD ( 29 females, 36 males) were enrolled in this study. They were admitted to the Artificial Kidney Units for heamodialysis in AL- Hakeem General Hospital and AL-Sadr Medical City in Annajaf City and compared with forty healthy subjects,18 of them were females and 22 were males .The range of ages of patients were 20 to 70 y and those of the control group were 25 to 65 y. Thirty (12 females, 18 males) from these patients were followed for up to six months (zero reading at 1st month and the others at 3rd month, at 5th month and 7th month) for serial assessment for estimation of serum levels of of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, ET-1,VEGF and CRP in the haemodialysis patients. Serum of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, ET-1, VEGF and CRP concentrations were measured by enzyme linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA).
