Detailed information

The Civil War in the Usa in 1861-65 was the most grandiose conflict in the history of the Usa and one of the most significant armed confrontations in the world history. The society was divided into southerners and northerners and each of them tried in every possible way to help their government. Except the combat operations there also existed the military espionage, the participants of which were women, as well as men. Some of these lady-spies left their memoirs for us. One of the spies, working for the government of Jeff Davis - if not the most outstanding among all of them - was Belle Boyd (1844 - 1900).her full name - was Isabella Maria Boyd. She entered the war when she was a seventeen years old passionate girl and in a year the whole country - the South and the North - knew her name. She acted courageously and resolutely, she was arrested for many times, for a few times she had been imprisoned for long. In 1863 she was released and went to England, where she wrote the story of her life.
