Detailed information

Nowadays, migration becomes global problem as migrants affect every continent of the world. Among various migrant problems, we concerned about food security because host and migrant populations compete for resources to survive. There are approximately more than 1.4 million Myanmar migrants lived in Thailand which is also Thailand largest migrant population. This study aimed to measure and describes food security also with dietary diversity status of Myanmar migrant in Thailand. There are more than 10 indicators for community/ household food security indicators since we cannot use national level survey to determine migrant food security. Most of the previous studies use only one method to measure food security. Recent articles of Tuft University from United States proved that using only one measurement is not enough to measure household (community) food security. So, we used three measurement methods to measure migrant food security which are household food insecurity access scale score (HFIAS), household dietary diversity score (HDDS) from USAID and FANTA, and nutritional assessment (BMI).
