Detailed information

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The modest village of wellington, which of late seems to have had greatness or, better, perhaps, notoriety thrust upon it, is by no means a. Locality Of pretentious claims. It is a plain, thriving village, in a flourishing and' pop nlous township of the same name, and lies upon the Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati Rail Road, thirty-six miles south-west Of the city first named. It is, therefore, within the bounds of that part of Northern Ohio widely known as the Connecticut Western Reserve, which was first settled some forty-five or fifty years ago by the representatives of Puritan New England, and has ever since been noted for the characteristics of the men who founded and shaped its social, political, and religious insti tutions.
