Detailed information

Present study was carried out at Pantnagar Center for Plant Genetic Resources (PCPGR) of G.B.P.U.A.&T., Pantnagar during summer season, 2013. Forty two genotypes (28 monoecious and 14 hermaphrodite) of ridge gourd were grown in Augmented Block Design II including two checks (Pant Torai-1 and Satputia) which were arranged in five blocks, each block possess 8 genotypes with two checks. Observations were recorded on fifteen yield and yield contributing character. Statistical analysis of data was done using the standard programme for genetic variability in general performance, correlation coefficient, principal component analysis & non-hierarchical Euclidean cluster analysis of component traits on yield. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant difference among the genotypes for all studied characters. Among the monoecious genotypes, PCPGR-3711 (119.33 q), PCPGR-3233 (115.44 q), PCPGR-3704 (113.31 q) & PCPGR-7267 (106.47 q) while, among the hermaphrodite genotypes, PCPGR-3716 (63.43 q), PCPGR-7275 (51.79 q), PCPGR-3702 (49.45 q) and PCPGR-3700 (45.51 q) were found promising for fruit yield per hectare.
