Detailed information

Fertigation is an important practice in precision farming that permits the farmer to apply optimum fertilizers through drip irrigation, which enhance production and productivity per unit area. Standardisation of fertigation schedule i.e., quantity of fertilizers and fertigation interval will be useful for farmers to enhance the productivity of the crop. The soil test crop response approach of fertilizer management helps to achieve the yield target in different field crops. Several researchers have carried out significant work on nutrient management based on STCR equation by using straight fertilizers through band placement. However, very meagre research has been carried on nutrient management in cropping system based on STCR equation through drip fertigation and its residual effect on succeeding crops. In view to increase the production potential of maize followed by onion through drip fertigation based on STCR equation experiment entitled "Standardization of drip fertigation as per yield target in maize (grain) - onion (seed) cropping sequence" was performed.
