Detailed information

During the reign of Sultan Ajwad bin Zamil bin Hussein, the Sultanate of Oman was a major political, military, and economic player since its emergence in 820 Hijri / 1417 CE until its fall in the year 932 Hijri / 1524-1525 CE. The Sultan was able to unite large areas of the region and his influence was powerful enough that it expanded to a vast area of the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. His widespread influence and striking power caught the attention of the Portuguese, who documented the Sultan in their reports as a subject to revere, respect, and fear.
