Detailed information

Women empowerment is a process of personal and social change through which they gain power meaningful choice and control over their lives. Empowerment is a multi-dimensional process which should enable women or group of women to realize their full identity and power in all spheres of life. History reveals that out of all deprived groups in the world women have suffered the most. They have been victims of abuse, molestation, violence, rape, poverty, malnutrition, ill treatment in a world all sort of deprivation. On the basis of sex, gender and patriarchal views, women are commonly portrayed as among the most oppressed people in the third world. Indeed the experiences of the majority of women of the sub-continent are grounded in both poverty and patriarchy.
