There is a growing awareness that the Church must commit to radically new agendas and fresh initiatives in order to connect the gospel with the widest possible spectrum of our society. Faith, commitment, sacrifice and boldness are needed - and an emerging generation of pioneering leaders focused on breaking new ground and growing Christian communities where none have flourished for many years, if ever. This book emerges from the strategic thinking and shared experiences of those attending the Breakout Pioneers Conference (www.breakoutpioneer.org.uk), an annual three day gathering of pioneer church leaders, both lay and ordained, from across the denominations. Established to seek out and draw together pioneers, the gathering also looks to support and train them so that they are free to pioneer as God leads them. Contributors include: •Richard Bauckham is Professor Emeritus in the University of St Andrews and Senior Scholar at Ridley Hall College, Cambridge. •Adrian Chatfield is Director of the Simeon Centre for Prayer and Spiritual Life at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He is also a member of the Fresh Expressions team with responsibility for prayer and spirituality. •Bishop Graham Cray is the Archbishops' Missioner and leader of the Fresh Expressions team. •John Drane is a mission consultant, co-chair of the Mission Theology Advisory Group and also Professor of Practical Theology at Fuller Seminary in California. •Peterson Feital is originally from Brazil and has been an evangelist for 16 years.
