This book is considered one of the most famous travel books in history. "Ibn Battuta" was known for his many travels, and because of his international fame, the Cambridge Society called him "The Prince of Muslim Travellers." Ibn Battuta began his journey from Tangier, his birthplace. Intending to perform Hajj to the Sacred House of God, he left without a companion or relative, and in every city he stopped he took a companion, so he told about him and the city in which he met him. The time of his travels was estimated at approximately thirty years. He dictated to Ibn Jazi al-Kalbi the details of those trips and their anecdotes. After he finished writing, he gave his book the name: "Tuhfat al-Nazar fi the Oddities of Lands and the Wonders of Travels." "Ibn Battuta" was not satisfied with the external description of the places he visited, but rather he talked extensively about the entrances and exits of the cities and the natures of the different peoples with whom he lived, and he recounted many interesting stories that made him one of the pioneers of travel literature in Arabic literature, to the point that we cannot point to a person He travels a lot Without calling him "Ibn Battuta."
