Detailed information

This text aims to identify the linguistic variations of the Brazilian regions, which are present in the speech of the inhabitants of the Federal District. This type of study is important because it shows that, despite differences in the way people from different regions of the country speak, when they are in the same place, as is the case in the Federal District, they can communicate perfectly. This proves that the pronunciation of words is just another type of linguistic variety, a fact that does not prevent communication and understanding of speech between speakers of the same language. The study of these manifestations is a field of linguistics which, by valuing the spoken language, aims to eliminate linguistic prejudice, as it understands that the standard language and the colloquial language are just varieties and not distinct languages or languages of lesser or greater value. In order to prove this variety among speakers of the same language, a survey was carried out with residents of the Federal District from different localities, finding the distinct features of each person's speech.
