The topic of deprivation of nationality, which is traditionally assigned to the domaine réservé of states, has regained importance in the last decade. The study places a focus on the ECHR and the jurisprudence of the ECtHR, which has possibly opened up a point of access for human rights protection against deprivation of nationality through the concept of »social identity«.
