Journey from Alienation to Acculturation

The present study entitled Diasporic Consciousness in the short stories of Bharati Mukherjee, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and Jhumpa Lahiri - A Study makes a comprehensive and perceptive study of the short stories of Bharati Mukherjee, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and Jhumpa Lahiri. It analyzes the various themes, trends and elements of diasporic consciousness. Concepts such as alienation, nostalgia, multiculturalism, identity crisis, assimilation, acculturation ... etc are studied with suitable examples and illustrations.
