The novel "When the Earth is silent" is a phantasmagoric unscientific science fiction, a hidden parody of ourselves, a sort of "shifter". Even in the most sophisticated cruelty scenes, like in a crooked mirror, our own acts are reflected, no matter how disgusting and frightening they may seem.A small agricultural village is dominated by mysterious aliens, with the advent of which all types of living creatures, except humans, disappear on Earth. Residents of the village mistakenly take them for aliens. Outwardly, they are no different from people. But their cruelty goes wild. What they do with people is difficult to describe. The heroes of the novel will face a difficult struggle for survival.
