&quote;The Happy Prince and Other Tales&quote; (sometimes called &quote;The Happy Prince and Other Stories&quote;) is a collection of stories for children by Oscar Wilde first published in May 1888. It contains five stories: &quote;The Happy Prince&quote;, &quote;The Nightingale and the Rose&quote;, &quote;The Selfish Giant&quote;, &quote;The Devoted Friend&quote;, and &quote;The Remarkable Rocket&quote;.Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) was an Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet, famous for &quote;The Picture of Dorian Gray&quote; and &quote;The Importance of Being Earnest&quote; to name a couple. He was believed to be gay and met a lot of resistance in his life on that account. He died in Paris at the age of 46.
