»Traditional Principles of Professional Soldiering«: The paper examines the persuasiveness of the prevailing opinion that there are no traditional principles of professional soldiering within the meaning of Article 33 (5) of the Basic Law. Starting from a legal-historical perspective, the author puts this thesis to the test and describes approaches to justifying the duties and rights of soldiers. The author highlights tensions within previous dogmatics and instead advocates for recognition of traditional principles.
